Cornerstone lahir dari kerinduan untuk melihat Kebangunan Rohani (Revival) terjadi di Pulau Bali dan menyebar ke seluruh pulau-pulau di Indonesia bahkan sampai ke bangsa-bangsa.
Visi untuk Revival telah Tuhan taruh dalam hati Gembala Senior kami – Pdt. Henry Parera sejak belasan tahun yang lalu, saat beliau mengerti panggilan Tuhan dalam kehidupannya untuk melayani Tuhan sepenuh waktu. Setelah menikah dengan isterinya – Ps. Alexandra Ivanova di tahun 2004, visi itu menjadi visi bersama dan didoakan terus selama bertahun-tahun. Dan akhirnya, pada tanggal 3 Mei 2009, Tuhan Yesus Kristus menetapkan dan mendirikan Gereja-Nya yaitu GBI Cornerstone, Bali. Cornerstone dibangun atas dasar kasih dalam keluarga rohani. Struktur organisasi Gereja tidak membatasi hubungan antara Bapa dan Ibu rohani dengan anak-anak rohani. Hubungan ini yang memastikan bahwa semua orang yang bergabung dengan Cornerstone menemukan sebuah keluarga rohani yang sehat yang membuat setiap orang percaya dapat bertumbuh di dalam kedewasaan rohani sehingga menjadi sama seperti Tuhan Yesus Kristus. Hanya tentara Allah yang dewasa saja yang bisa mengalahkan musuh.
Kebangunan Rohani tidak akan pernah terjadi tanpa membayar harga. Oleh karena itu, Cornerstone ada untuk mempersiapkan dan melatih tentara-tentara Allah di akhir jaman yang siap untuk dikirim ke medan-medan pertempuran rohani yang paling berbahaya, namun dilakukan dengan konsep pendidikan, pelatihan, pembangunan, dan perawatan dalam keluarga rohani. Kekudusan dan disipilin rohani merupakan harga mati bagi anak-anak Cornerstone. Tujuan akhir kami adalah Bukit Sion. Dan untuk mencapai ke tujuan akhir kita itu, semua anak-anak Cornerstone yang kita sebut sebagai Cornerstonian harus mengerti etape-etape rohani apa yang harus dilalui. Cornerstone was born for the longing to see Revival happen in Bali island then spread to all islands of Indonesia, even up to the nations.
Vision for Revival had been put by God in our Senior Pastor’s heart – Rev. Henry Parera since many years ago when he firstly understood God’s calling in his life to serve the Lord as full time minister. After married with his wife – Ps. Alexandra Ivanova in year 2004, the vision become the mutual vision of both of them and it had been prayed and tested for many years. Cornerstone is built upon the foundation of love in the family. The Organization Structure does not limit the relationship between the Spiritual Father and Mother with their spiritual sons/daughters. This relationship ensure that all the people who join with Cornerstone will find the healthy spiritual family who makes every believer to grow in the spiritual maturity until become alike with Lord Jesus Christ. Only the matured warrior of God can defeat the enemies.
Revival will not happen without paying the price. Therefore, Cornerstone established in order to prepare and equip the warrior of God in the end time who are ready to be sent to the most dangerous spiritual battle. But it is done with the concept of educating, equipping, edifying and also nurturing in the spiritual family. Holiness and Spiritual discipline is the dead price for the children of Cornerstone (we call ourselves “Cornerstonian”). And to reach our ultimate goal on Mount Zion, all the Cornerstonians must understand the stages of our spiritual journey that must be passed through.
